34th Annual Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition
March 8, 2010Description:
Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors or first year college students who intend to make music a central part of their future life. Those who have entered as high school seniors are eligible to compete again as college freshmen, unless they have been previous first place winners.

The Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) Education Fund
March 7, 2010Description:
The purpose of the Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) Education Fund is to award scholarships to students attending accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing and anesthesia programs. Other non-traditional nursing programs may also be eligible. In 2010, scholarships will be awarded in memory of Captain Gussie M. Jones, AN, who died of non-battle related causes in Iraq. She was the first African-American Army Nurse to die while assigned in a theater of operations.

National Federation of the Blind 2010 Scholarship Program
March 4, 2010Description:
Each year at its national convention in July, the NFB gives a broad array of thirty scholarships to recognize achievement by blind scholars. All applicants for these scholarships:
- must be legally blind (PDF document) in both eyes, and
- must be residing in the United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico, and
- must be pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time, postsecondary course of study in a degree program at a United States institution in the 2010 scholastic year, except that one scholarship may be given to a person employed full-time while attending school part-time, and
- must participate in the entire NFB national convention and in all scheduled scholarship program activities.

Families of Freedom 9/11 Scholarship Fund
March 2, 2010Description:
The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund announced on September 9 that it will provide $8.4 million in needs-based postsecondary scholarships to 520 eligible members of the 9/11 community for the 2009-2010 academic year. More than $4.2 million has been distributed for the September 2009 semester; the remaining half will be dispersed in December for the semester beginning January 2010. Since the first awards in January 2002, the Families of Freedom Fund will, with this year’s awards, have distributed more than $46.6 million to approximately 1,400 individuals.

AISI/AIST Foundation Premier Scholarship

The American Iron and Steel Institute and the Association for Iron and Steel Technology Foundation have joined together to create the AISI/AIST Premier Scholarship to increase the number of students studying engineering in North America, and to encourage such students to pursue careers in the iron and steel industry upon graduation.
