Gerstner Scholars Program

Generously funded by the Gerstner Family Foundation, the Gerstner Scholars program will encourage and support groundbreaking research in biology, with an emphasis on genomics, including such topics as microbes, mammals, invertebrates, marine life, and computational biology. The work of scholars at AMNH co-supported through this competitive program will have implications for such broad themes as: human and medical research that is informed by understanding the scientific composition and behavior of other species; and advancing our understanding of the evolution and diversity of species and the “tree of life.”

Microsoft Computer Science Scholarship

American Copy Editors Society Scholarships 2011
Wednesday, October 27th, 2010Description:
The ACES Education Fund, an affiliate of the American Copy Editors Society, offers scholarships to juniors, seniors and grad students interested in careers in copy editing. The top candidate will be awarded the $2,500 Aubespin scholarship, named for Merv Aubespin, a longtime journalist, a former president of the National Association of Black Journalists and the “godfather” of ACES. At least four other candidates will receive scholarships of $1,000 each. All the winners will be granted free registration for the ACES national conference in March 2011 in Phoenix. Some financial aid for winners to travel to the conference may be available as well.

ASCP and Siemens to Award $185,000 in Scholarships in 2011

YSLA Spectrum Scholarship

The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) continues its commitment to diversity in the library profession by announcing its support of the American Library Association’s (ALA) Spectrum Scholarship Program and this year’s special Spectrum Presidential Initiative. In 2011, YALSA will fund one Spectrum Scholarship for an individual interested in pursuing young adult services as a career. This is the third straight year that YALSA has sponsored a Spectrum Scholar. The Spectrum Scholarship consists of $5,000 for tuition reimbursement and $1,500 towards the scholar’s participation in the Spectrum Leadership Institute at the ALA Annual Conference.
