Description:
The Occupational Health Internship Program (OHIP) is summer internship program to help medical, nursing, public health, and other students learn more about the field of occupational safety and health from those with the most at stake: working people.
We are committed to recruiting, training, mentoring, and inspiring a new generation of occupational safety and health professionals to prevent job injury and disease through a partnership with workers.
OHIP is a national program housed within the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC), with training centers in San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, Los Angeles and New York City. Since its founding in 1987, the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC) has grown to a network of more than 60 clinics and more than 250 individuals committed to improving the practice of occupational and environmental medicine through information sharing and collaborative research.

American Indian College Fund Scholarship

Partnerships with corporate and private donors have introduced a category of special scholarships that are being offered to American Indian students pursuing professional degrees. These scholarships are administered by the Fund and are generally based upon merit and demonstrated financial need. Students can access the application by clicking below the scholarship you are interested in applying for. One application can be used to apply for more than one scholarship, simply sign the cover sheets indicating what scholarship(s) you would like to be considered for. Please use the application check list to ensure that you are submitting a complete application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Student Science Enrichment Program

ACM-W Scholarships for Attendance at Research Conference
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010Description:
ACM-W provides support for women students in Computer Science and related programs (at the undergraduate or graduate levels) who wish to attend research conferences. Exposure to the CS research world can be an important factor in encouraging a student to continue on to the next level (Undergraduate to Graduate, Masters to Ph.D., Ph.D. to an industry or academic position). The student does not have to present a paper at the conference she attends.
In cases of exceptional demonstrable interest in pursuing study and research in CS, high school students will also be considered for conference support. Twenty such scholarships, of up to $500 each, will be awarded annually.

Carol K. Pforzheimer Student Fellowships

The Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America invites Harvard undergraduates to make use of the library’s collections with competitive awards of amounts up to $2,500 for relevant research projects. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing research in the history of work and the family, community service and volunteerism, the culinary arts, or women’s health. The research may be, but is not required to be, in connection with a project for academic credit.

Tiger Woods Foundation Grants

The TWF Grants Program has supported an average of 100 charities annually with millions of dollars since its inception in 1996. Tiger Woods Foundation grants focus on providing opportunities to underserved youth, ages 8-18, with the average grant range between $2,500 and $25,000.

The Ann Arbor AWC Scholarship for Women in Computing

Each year the Ann Arbor chapter of the Association for Women in Computing (AWC), awards one or more scholarships through the AWC Scholarship Fund for Women in Computing held at the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF). The scholarship recognizes outstanding women participating in an institution accredited for higher education in the state of Michigan pursuing a career in a computer or technology-related field. Awards are determined based on your answers to the three essay questions. The most important considerations are motivation, passion, thoughtfulness, creativity, skillful communication, and participation in the computing community. The scholarship recipient must agree, if awarded the scholarship, to provide a written report on academic progress at the end of the semester after receiving the scholarship.

2010-2011 William Orr Dingwall Foundation Neurolinguistics Dissertation Fellowship

The William Orr Dingwall Foundation was established in 1994 by Dr. William Orr Dingwall, a professor at the University of Maryland and a widely-published scholar and researcher in the area of the effects of brain physiology on speech and language. Originally based in San Francisco, California, the Foundation’s operations moved to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area after the death of Dr. Dingwall in January of 2004.
The Foundation oversees the distribution of William Orr Dingwall Foundation Neurolinguistics Fellowships to doctoral candidates fulfilling their dissertation requirements and William Orr Dingwall Foundation Korean Ancestry Grants to students of Korean ancestry (and a limited number of exceptional students of other Asian ancestry) pursuing degrees at accredited universities in the United States.

AGI Minority Participation Program

Since 1972, the American Geological Institute has administered the Minority Participation Program Geoscience Student Scholarships. The goal for this program is to develop the professional corps of underrepresented ethnic-minority students in the geosciences. Recipients of AGI Geoscience Student Scholarships are provided with small financial awards and matched with a mentor from the geoscience community to foster whole professional development of the awardee. Each award consists of both scholarship support as well as support for professional development experiences for successful candidates. Professional development experiences that qualify include field camp, professional society memberships, and/or travel and registration to a professional meeting of one of AGI’s member societies.
