Federal Student Aid FAFSA

Description:

Before beginning the FAFSA, you should apply for a Federal Student Aid Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN will allow you to sign your FAFSA electronically and later to access your processed FAFSA online. If you are providing parent information on the FAFSA, one of your parents must also apply for a PIN and electronically sign your FAFSA.

Google Scholarship Program

The Google Scholarship Program offers funds to students studying computer science or computer engineering who are juniors or seniors in college or pursuing a Master’s or PhD.  Selected scholars will be invited to an all-expenses paid trip to the Google Headquarters in California in spring 2011.

ACS Scholars Program

Description:

ACS awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry-related fields. Awards of up to $5,000* are given to qualified applicants based on academic standing, financial need, career objective, leadership skills, and involvement in school activities and community service.

If you are an African American, Hispanic, or American Indian high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences or chemical technology, you may be eligible.

The rules of eligibility for the 38th annual scholarship award of the Richard F. Walsh/Alfred W. Di Tolla/ Harold P. Spivak Foundation state that an applicant must:

  • Be the son/daughter of a member in good standing of the IATSE;
  • Be a high school senior at the time of application; and
  • Have applied, or be about to apply for admission to an accredited college or university as a fully matriculated student, which will lead to a bachelor’s degree.

The NLHA Education Fund was established as a 501(c)(3) organization to raise funds for the purpose of awarding education grants and scholarships to low income individuals residing in federally assisted rental housing owned, managed, or administered by members of the National Leased Housing Association. The National Leased Housing Association (NLHA) is nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and preservation of decent and safe affordable rental housing.

Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship

Description:

The Government Finance Officers Association’s Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship of $5,000 is available for award to one or more undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in full-time study preparing for a career in state and local government finance. The winner of the scholarship is invited to attend the Government Finance Officers Association’s annual conference, where the award is presented.
Eligibility:

  • Currently a full-time student in an accounting program who is preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Both advanced undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.
  • Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
  • Recommendation by student’s academic advisor or the chair of the accounting program.
  • Student has not been a past winner of a scholarship administered by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is proud to offer fellowships to students in their undergraduate and graduate careers.   The Aeronautics Scholarship Program (ASP) offers our nation’s research leaders of tomorrow exceptional funding:

Undergraduate Students:

  • $15,000 awarded for each school year, to be used for educational related expenses
  • $10,000 Summer internship at a NASA Research Center
  • 2 years of support

Graduate Students:

  • $35,000 stipend
  • $11,000 awarded each year, to be used for educational related expenses

Rolf S. Jaehnigen Family Scholarship

Description:

Rolf S. Jaehnigen, a long time IMA and SCMS member, and his family have established a $1000 scholarship to recognize a student who is passionate not only about his/her business career, but about the arts as well. The arts include music (voice and instrument), dance and theater.

To apply, you must be a junior or senior accounting, finance or information systems major at an accredited business school. Please submit an essay of up to 250 words about how your involvement with the arts has made an impact on your personal and/or professional life. Please provide both a hand written and typed version of the essay along with your most current school transcript available. Include your name, school, address, e-mail, telephone number, social security number and IMA member number at the end of the submission.

Dorothy Harris Endowed Scholarship

Description:

Providing female graduate students in physical education, sport management, sport psychology or sport sociology with a means to attend graduate school.

Any female, American citizen or legal resident, graduate student who will be pursuing a full-time course of study at an accredited postgraduate institution during the 2010-2011 school year is eligible to apply for the scholarship. If you will not have tuition expenses in the 2010-2011 school year, you are not eligible for this scholarship. Scholarship checks will be issued in the summer of 2010.

NGPA Scholarship

Description:

The NGPA Education Fund (NGPA-EF) provides educational assistance in the form of scholarships to students pursuing aviation careers as professional pilots and who have demonstrated community involvement, including support of the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual & transgender (LGBT) community.

NGPA-EF has awarded more than 33 awards totaling $93,000 since its inaugural grant in 1998. In 2008, four awards of $3,750 were made.
