BEA National Scholarships in Broadcasting for Academic Year 2010-2011

Description:
BEA is the professional development association for professors, industry professionals and students involved in teaching and research related to radio, television, and other electronic media. BEA administers fourteen scholarships annually, to honor broadcasters and the electronic media profession. The BEA Two Year Award is for study at member schools offering only freshman and sophomore instruction, or for use at a four-year member school by a graduate of a BEA two-year campus.

The Bible Scholarship – Book of Proverbs

George J. Mitchell Scholarships

Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship for Law Students

The scholarship is to foster the development of intellectual property lawyers from diverse backgrounds. Applicants must be law students who have entered into a JD program at an ABA-accredited law school in the United States. CRITERIA: Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship review board based on the following criteria: (1) academic merit (undergraduate, graduate and law school); (2) commitment to the pursuit of a career in IP law; (3) member of a historically underrepresented group in IP law; (3) written communication skills; (4) oral communication skills determined through an interview; and (5) leadership qualities and community involvement.

Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest

Many scholarships require you to write an essay. This one is a no different. However, it also requires some reading. But it pays well.
Interested students just need to read the novel Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and write an essay response to one of three prompts for a chance at up to $10,000 in scholarship money. There’s one catch: the novel is nearly 1200 pages long, so you’d better get started.
Essays will be judged on both style and content. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of Atlas Shrugged.
Prize:
1 first prize: $10,000
3 second prizes: $2,000
5 third prizes: $1,000
20 finalists: $100
20 semifinalists: $50
